Saturn is the second largest planet in the solar system but it has such a low density that it could float on water. Saturn is the sixth planet from the sun and has thirty-one moons. It was explored in 1980 through 1981. It is flattened at the poles. And its rotation is on its axis. The rotation is 29 1/2 years long. ninety degree angle tilt on its axis. The day length of one day is ten hours thirty-nine minutes. The wind blows at very high speeds. The astmophere is hydrogen and helium. The surface is liquid and gas. The rings of Saturn are what Saturn is most famous for. It has the most complex and brightest ring system in our solar system. There are seven layers of the rings. The rings look solid but they really aren't. They are made up of ice, rock and dust. They are so close together they seem to be solid rings, but if you really look closer through a telescope you will see they are not. The temperatures on the planet vary from around -170 degrees Celsius. saturn-3d-space-tour-screensaver.jpgsaturn.gif
